4 Reasons Why It’s NOT the End for Delta 8

If you have been following along in the CBD world recently, you have heard a lot of things regarding Delta-8 and its legality. In fact, quite a few states are pushing for a Delta-8 THC ban –  and some of these states are newly cannabis legal states building this into their new legislation. However, that does not mean that this will be the end for Delta-8. While it may be more difficult for every state to eventually all agree on the same legislation, there are still plenty of Delta-8 products to be enjoyed.

For those of you who are not fully familiar with Delta-8, let us dive into a quick recap of what it actually is. Delta-8 is a compound found in cannabis that has become increasingly popular recently due to its incredible similarity to delta 9. It still gets you high, causes euphoria, some many symptoms and much more. Even though there are a lot of supporters out there who are in favor of continuing usage and production of Delta-8, there are equally as many who are against it. However, we believe that the Delta-8 THC ban will not be the end of Delta-8.

Here are the top 4 reasons why we believe it is not the end of Delta-8.

1. Despite the Delta-8 ban, it is nearly identical to the Delta-9 strain, which is legal.

The Delta-8 and Delta-9 compounds are actually both found naturally occurring within cannabis and are incredibly similar. In fact, according to NBC News, they agree and state that “All that separates them [Delta-8 and delta 9] is the location of a double bond, found on the eighth carbon in Delta-8 THC and the ninth carbon in delta-9.” Even so, that brings us to our next point – where is Delta-8 available?

2. There are still places where Delta-8 is available.

As with most items, if there is a customer wanting it, there is a willing supply to produce it. Due to the extensive popularity of Delta-8 even in the face of legal issues, there are plenty of places where Delta-8 can be found. Whether you are looking to purchase in-store or online, it’s important to buy from a reputable company.

3. Delta-8 can be extracted from either hemp or cannabis.

The potential Delta-8 THC ban has had many recreational users frightened as to when and where Delta-8 is available for purchase. Therefore, matters have been taken into the hands of the consumers and many are creating their own Delta-8. According to Inverse, all you need to create Delta-8 is CBD: “The technique to convert CBD Isolate (derived from hemp) into Delta-8-THC has been around for a while… From our understanding, the CBD Isolate is then put through an isomerization process to create the Delta-8 distillate, which comes in different qualities.” This type of process to convert CBD into Delta-8 is exploding all over, definitely ensuring that the Delta-8 THC ban will not impact the amount of product available for purchase.

4. There are some grey areas around Delta-8 in regards to legislation – sorting them out takes a lot of time.

With the rise of multiple off-market ways to create Delta-8, it is not a surprise that the government wants to make sure all aspects of its production are monitored and safe for public consumption. As of right now, not a lot of data is available regarding Delta-8 and in order for the general public to feel confident in using it as often as delta 9, a lot of research needs to be done. While all of the legalities are being discussed in court, that does not impact the production and consumption of Delta-8 right now.

Remember, always be mindful of whom you are purchasing any and all of your cannabis products. There are always ways producers can skirt the regulations and codes and provide you with less than premium quality products. Make sure to do your research – starting here at Go Green Botanicals is a great place! – and start yourself out slowly with small doses.
